Mac-N-Awe is Burly’s veteran emcee. For over 20 years he has served as loyal foot solider for Hip Hop in the 905. In the early 90s, Mac joined Attitude Sound Crews DJ Gibs to form “The Hoodlumz” releasing 2 full length albums. With almost no Hip Hop scene, they spent the next couple years playing shows with bands like Grade on the hardcore circuit. Mac went on to host “Absrakt Sundays” on 93.3 CFMU for 5 years, continuing to spread the world of rap.
Recently Mac-N-Awe has had multiple guest appearances on releases from Lo-Fi and The Killin Time Band, as well as supporting the community with the release of “Steelworkers Waltz”. With his new partner in rhyme MCB (Matt Barnhart of Video Dead) and
Toronto producer Icue, expect a new album by the end of 2012. Guests will include Burly’s Bianca Bernardi and a host of 905 Hip Hop royalty from Lee Reed to Elley Jeez & The Phorce. Things are getting real on the Burlington Hip Hop scene!!
