This Is The Noise

Noise: in common use, the word noise means any unwanted sound.

Maybe it was exactly that which brought together both singer/guitarist’s Ian Blackwood and Chuck Leach. Two longtime friends with musical resumes that span anywhere from punk rock to heavy metal, the two found a common bond in writing and composing music of a more minor chord nature. The unwanted sound. Dark and melodic. After compiling a handful of demo songs in Blackwood’s LimeGreen Studio, Leach took a quick liking to Aaron Morrice and his progressive rock-style drumming. Hearing the songs for the first time, multi-instrumentalist Will Marr jumped on board to fulfil bass guitar duties. Finally to make everything a little louder and a little noisier, the group enlisted Ryan Ford as their third guitarist. The band quickly rehearsed and scheduled studio time for their very first EP. ‘Extended Play’ is a sample of what is to come of the loud, dark and interesting mind of The Noise. After spending time in bands like Jersey, The Artist Life, Jude The Obscure and the rock group The Weekend to still working hard in iLL Scarlett and post hardcore rookie band Animal Faces, The Noise is a perfect example of five eccentric minds in constant creative motion.
